Tim grew up in southeast Texas, Hankamer, the second of four boys. He graduated from Anahuac High School. Tim spent 18 years working as an industrial contractor in plants along the Texas gulf coast. He then worked for Mustang Engineering as a Project Controls Manager. He had worked bi-vocationally in ministry alongside his industrial work until 2007 when he resigned to become a US Missionary, serving for two years in inner-city Dallas and then 13 years in church health and revitalization. Tim has a Pastoral Ministries degree and a master's degree in Christian Leadership. Tim enjoys outdoors, sports, board games, and reading (sci-fi, classics, leadership, and of course the Bible). Tim met Rachel at church camp. They married in 1992 and now have two grown children, a daughter who teaches in Northern Asia and a son who lives in Roanoke. Tim also really loves ice cream which adds to the "ice cream culture" here at the church.
Rachel grew up, the oldest, in a house with three girls. Her dad was a Texas Park Ranger, so she lived in four State Parks until she graduated from Ball High in Galveston. Rachel has an associate's degree in psychology from Nelson University and a teaching degree from Lamar University. She taught second grade in Anahuac, TX, and then worked in a variety of nonprofits. Rachel is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. She returned to work in education in 2020 and is an instructional aide at Granbury High School. Rachel enjoys reading, walking, drinking coffee, and eating chocolate. She says that she walks more, so she can eat more chocolate. Tim and Rachel now live on her family’s ranch outside of Bluff Dale. They are the fourth generation to live out on the "Ranch."
